Il disco del mese di Luglio

Bela Lugosi alias Peter Murphy non è morto. Il suo ultimo lavoro risaliva al lontano 2004 (Unshattered). Tutti ormai lo davano per disperso invece come un bagliore che squarcia la notte eccolo ritornare con questo sfolgorante "Ninth".  La traccia   See Saw Sway ha subito attirato la mia attenzione questo perchè vi sono  sonorità wave, a me molto care,  inconfondibili anche se con un approccio più melodico.  I Spit Roses è la dimostrazione di come Murphy si sia evoluto anche nel costruire canzoni più leggere senza scadere nella banalità. Il pezzo migliore dell’album è sicuramente Memory go. Ritmo alto che varia spesso, incalzante, danzereccia (in pieno stile synth-rock anni 80), raffinata e trascinante allo stesso tempo (e con un intermezzo dark-psicheldelico).
Per chi c’era e lo seguiva anche con i Bauhaus, per chi l’ha conosciuto in versione solista e per chi lo scopre ora non avrà rimpianti. A volte ritornano. Per fortuna. Buon ascolto!
